Melbourne clothing label APOM opened its first brick and mortar store towards the end of 2014 and this weekend marks the first birthday of their Carlisle St store! Like any birthday it’s time to celebrate with bubbly wine and cake. APOM are lucky enough to be collaborating with some great Melbourne brands for this event as well as Adelaide's Bird In Hand Winery who will be supplying the sparkling! The APOM shop is located on Carlisle St and showcases the whole range, sitting alongside a curated collection of independent and Australian designers and creators such as Julie White, Pirdy and State of Folly.
So put on your party dress this Sunday and join Kajsa and Kate to help celebrate the first year in their stand alone store. And if the bubbly and cake aren't enough to entice you, there will be a $300 voucher giveaway for one lucky person and 20% off all the new season stock for those attending.
WHAT: Craft Pop Up Shop 2015

It’s back! Craft’s Pop-Up will again take over the Melbourne Town Hall for 32 days showcasing the best of Victorian craft and design.
Craft's Pop Up features over 70 established and emerging makers, showcasing handmade ceramics, jewellery, textiles, papercraft, mixed media and furniture. With triple the floorspace of Craft's home at 31 Flinders Lane, The Pop-Up allows Craft to generate new conversations about ways of making, and to celebrate the very best of Australian handmade contemporary craft. There will also be special events and demonstrations in the space including installations by makers Kim Jaeger and John Brooks, furniture designers Dale Hardiman, Coco Flip, Redfox and Wilcox and Tide Design. WHAT: 'Risographica 3' Group Exhibition
WHERE: Lamington Drive (101A Sackville Street, Collingwood)

Following the success of Lamington Drive’s inaugural 'Risographica!' exhibition in 2010 and sequel, 'Risographica 2' in 2012, Lamington Drive are pleased to present the much-anticipated third incarnation of their (almost) biennial charity show, aptly titled 'Risographica 3'. This group exhibition will see 28 of Jacky Winter’s finest explore the medium of the A3 2-colour Risograph. All works will be sold in limited editions of 10 for $50.00 each, with all profits during the exhibition going to Oxfam’s International Crisis Fund – supporting the response to humanitarian crises worldwide, by helping those most in need when a natural or a man-made emergency occurs. The Melbourne label are excited to have their latest resort SS1516 collection on show, as well as their amazing collaboration with Maryanne Moodie. Kuwaii’s latest collaboration with the ex-pat Australian artist & weaver extraordinaire blurs the boundaries between craft and fashion with a soft and feminine nod to all things Kuwaii. In sync with Kuwaii’s aesthetic, Maryanne’s woven tapestries in a stunning array of soft colours and textures complement Kuwaii’s simple yet sophisticated, timeless yet modern styles. For the collaboration, Maryanne has produced a wearable woven tapestry as part Kuwaii’s resort collection. This beautiful piece is half art work and half garment, and will produced in extremely limited numbers, and will be available for pre-order on the night. Lamington Drive is pleased to present Find me a Castle — a book launch and solo exhibition by Beci Orpin. To celebrate the launch of Beci’s latest publication, 'Find me a Castle' a children’s look-and-find picture book published by Penguin, Beci brings together a look-and-find exhibition to match. Illustrations from the book are extracted from the pages and transformed into a larger than-life-scale. The gallery walls are divided into giant pages where viewers can search for hidden objects – an elephant stamp, a beetle, even a giant toothbrush. Join Lamington Drive and Beci for the launch on Saturday August 15 for wall-to-wall fun with kid’s activities, All Day Donuts and much, much more to discover. Backwoods Gallery is proud to present an exhibition of illustrations by two young artists, Evie Cahir & Gemma Topliss, who are representative of the bright future of Australia art. In Heavy Leisure, opening on the 17th of April, Cahir and Topliss will present a series of delicate, illustrative works. The collection re-evaluates the seemingly mundane moments, objects and routines of daily life, imbuing them with emotional undertones. The exhibition will be on display until the 26th of April.
