Her Name is Flora is an exhibition by Eloise Maree and Caitlin Shearer, spanning film, photography, painting and textiles (maybe even a sneaky plant or two!) - based upon a mutual fascination with the female figure and native flora and fauna. This exhibition being a culmination of two feminine approaches to the subject matter in an array of contrasting mediums. The festival, spearheaded by Brisbane’s The Fans Group, have made the 2014 return of Blurst a tri-state shebang-proper, quenching the thirst of those lovers of all things punk, rock, hardcore and jangly-pop. WHERE: Koskela (1/85 Dunning Ave, Rosebery, Sydney) WHEN: Runs from 31st May until 6th July Koskela is proud to present "Horse Sword" an exhibition of new work, research and ideas about the periphery of a studio practice, from Melbourne-based artist Ghostpatrol. These ideas are usually drawn on the margins of sketchbook pages, and usually forgotten in preference for more 'polished' works – or dot a studio as usable objects. All these peripheries rarely make it outside the din of an artists' studio, until now - where they come to form their own body of work. The title describes a collection of fallen, frail, tired looking souls, who in coming together, give each other a new and unexpected life. The exhibition runs from February 19th until March 22nd.
