Australian singer-songwriter, Lenka has been pretty busy over the last few years having a baby, making art and writing a whole lot of new tunes. After a particularly momentous 12 months of recording and touring, Brisbane’s Emma Louise has finally released her long-awaited debut album, vs Head vs Heart. With the release of Boy late last year and Freedom in January this year, we had big expectations for the rest of her album. Rich with sweet melodies, echoing percussion, spine-tingling synths and dreamy lyrics, vs Head vs Heart is beautifully somber and all consuming. This little lady continues to amaze us with her sheer talent and we can't wait to see what else she does in the future. After captivating listeners right across the globe, Sydney-based alternative rockers, Nantes have now delivered their impressive and eagerly awaited debut album BeingsBeing.  Songs for the debut album were recorded throughout 2012 in between tours and during a dedicated period at the end of the year, which saw the release of the albums first two singles 'Unsatisfy' and 'Drones'. From the uplifting latest single ‘Avid’ to the bass heavy pace of ‘Potrisis’, the atmospheric slow burn of ‘Awayk/Dream’ and the anthemic ‘Hail’, BeingsBeing is a remarkable debut album full of hypnotic synth lines, driving bass, droning vocals and defiant apathy. Following the well-received release of their debut single ‘Lover of Mine’ in October last year, Brisbane all female three-piece, Avaberée are proud to present their accompanying video clip. Directed and co-produced by Sydney's Josh Calder, the video takes a whimsically dark yet captivating approach to the visuals accompanying the infectious indie tune. Set in a dim basement, the three alluring birds - Aimee, Genevieve and Irena - hold a male bird/ex-lover hostage, to reveal his colourful facade for the inner truth.  You can watch the video online here!

With a widespread reputation for stirring live shows, Australia's Mama Kin returns with a swag of new songs that confront the veil between darkness and light. Was It Worth It, the first single from her soon to be released album, The Magician’s Daughter, signals an expansion in Mama Kin’s musical palette. Was It Worth It ushers in a depth and potency underpinned by Mama Kin’s vocals that so spectacularly hover between vulnerability and power. The Magician’s Daughter will be in store early 2013.

In recent years, singer-songwriter, Russian Red (Lourdes Hernández) has become one of the most significant artists of the Spanish indie music scene. 2008 saw the release her first official album, 'I Love Your Glasses', which was jam packed with lovely acoustic-folk based tunes. Then a few years later in 2011, Russian Red returned with her second album 'Fuerteventura' - an equally amazing record. With beautiful lyrics, an exceptional voice and innate ability to transmit and excite her audience, we are almost certain we'll be seeing more from her in the future. With the highly-anticipated debut EP Anywhere Else creeping up on the near horizon, Brisbane surf-rock duo Gung Ho are rounding out an exhaustive twelve months of touring around the country by supporting Hungry Kids of Hungary on The Sharp Shooter Tour throughout October and November. 

Gung Ho have already sparked local and international attention for their first two cracking singles Twin Rays and Side By Side. International blogs have declared untamed elation for the duo’s seamless blend of surf pop and post-punk influences, while the Australian music community have provided similar support. Their hard work has recently culminated in a signing to leading Australian booking agency Select Music, who have added the band to their growing roster of acclaimed artists.
