Inspired by nature and daily life, her pictures are little narratives which she has created in her tiny sketch-books and in her stage-like three dimensional scenes. We're really diggin' her miniature interior series as well as the cute table-faces series. Who knew furnishings could be so fun?

Inspired by folk tales, any and all animals, classical music, and houseplants, Julianna creates whimsical and delicate drawings that are just as beautiful as the illustrations found in old story books. Julianna notes her up-bringing and environment as significant impacts on her work, "I grew up in the wilds of Michigan, playing out in the woods behind my house every day and cultivating a love of animals and bird watching. I was lucky enough to have an early education that also cultivated my imagination, books were always very important in our house, and I always had a love of fairy tales and magic that I could find in the real world though nature and history. It’s these experiences that have had the greatest effect on my work."
