Kimber Beck is a 27 year old conceptual photographer living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Blurring the lines between photographer and subject, her self-portraits explore notions of intimacy and the female form. Captured whole or in part, Kimber's unclad female body is often placed within surreal contexts or positions, surrounded by everyday objects such as bathtubs, lampshades, cupboards and flowers. Kimber notes "Self portraits remain my favorite. There’s something about being the photographer & model that works out really well for me. I’m able to capture the exact emotion that I want without having to translate it into words to tell a model. All the poses come naturally, I feel them".
