Elizabeth Lowell Boland aka Lowell is a rising Canadian singer-songwriter currently based in Toronto. With a sound reminiscent of Lykke Li and The Bird & The Bee, this quirky singer is making some serious waves in the music world with her catchy indie pop tunes. After the completing her first EP, I Killed Sara V in early 2014, she then went on to release her debut album, We Loved Her Dearly via Arts + Crafts Productions. We Loved Her Dearly is both intensely catchy and emotionally personal, with songs that touch on subjects such as sexual abuse and LGBT rights. Each song was written to empower not only herself but her listeners; to challenge gender conventions and social limitations, as well as to celebrate and uphold individuality. Lowell's brand of pop may be confronting in terms of her subject matter, but her dreamy melodies keep her songs catchy and fun. You can stream We Loved Her Dearly online now via Spotify or purchase it via Gallery AC.
