We've been frothin' at the mouth and desperately hoping that Vanishing Elephant would introduce women's pieces into their label and well, now they have. Much like the mens collection - slim cut trousers, parkas and chinos, shirting in chambray and plaid, killer desert boots and brogues are seen throughout but mixed with feminine silk shirts and wrap dresses, sleeveless shirts rendered in paisley, pleated plaid draw-string short shorts and well-cut blazers that are the crème de la crème! The guys behind the label, said that their typical Vanishing Elephant girl is "someone quite aware of their own sense of dress but still ambitious enough to try colours and patterns that may not be a staple of their current wardrobe." The Spring 2012 Womenswear collection will drop mid-July in their Melbourne store, online and in a variety of other stockists.

Since launching her namesake label in 2010, UK womenswear designer Charlotte Taylor has really made a name for herself. Well known for her use of bold silhouettes and quirky prints, Charlotte’s collections almost always feature playful and unusual patterns giving them a fun yet feminine feel. From Penguins, grannies and eccentrics to Vintage Robots, Sail-making and decayed metal; Charlotte delves into her collections and creates worlds and stories to compliment and drive them. We love everything she's done so far, especially her use of pattern on pattern in the Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Head to the CT website for more info and to check out her full collections.
Kelly Love is an Australian designer, currently living and working in London. In 2012, after studying Fashion Design at Raffles Institute of Design and working for couture label Baccini & Hill as well as ASOS, Kelly finally launched her namesake label with SS12 Pocket Full O’ Posies. Kelly prints hand drawn feminine yet contemporary etchings onto silk and cotton and sits these pieces alongside luxurious outerwear made with locally sourced fabrics – including Leather, Mohair, Jacquard & Wool. We love her current Autumn/Winter 2012 collection, 'Into the Woods'. Inspired by the forest, folk tales about love & loss and the idea of "ethereal darkness" Kelly has created a collection of charming and simplistic garments that prove, less is definitely more. Romance Was Born is a playful and quirky Australian label founded in 2005 by designers, Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales. Taking inspiration from artists, the duo often work with local artists collaboratively to create vibrant and otherworldly prints each season. Previous collaborations include working with artists including Del Kathryn Barton and Kate Rhode. The pair are also known for their ambitious and often theatrical runway shows that realise the Romance Was Born vision. Each show production becomes a dreamscape to explore vast themes of fantasy and vibrant imagery. Their latest Autumn/Winter 2012 collection is our favourite yet with its extreme colour blocking, fine tailoring, denim, plaid and heavy painterly prints including impressionistic watercolours, abstract oils, modernist graphics, patchwork, abstraction and giant owls.
