Tristan Pigott is a London based painter whose work explores human characteristics and everyday life. Tristan's ambiguous work draws the viewer in, allowing them to spend time working out the different connotations of the surreal narratives he has created. Tristan's paintings also have an interesting relation to photography, whilst keeping a distance from photographic realism. Keeping a division between the two enables an important detachment from realism, creating space and leaving the viewer a chance to connect with the work.

Yangyang has a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Fine Art from the Sichuan Fine Art Institute. Her current work focuses on the contrasts found in Nature, with its hostility and hospitality of beauty at the foundation of her exploration. In her present body of abstract paintings Yangyang has developed a visual language that expresses her inspiration taken from natural optical cues and infuses it with spirit and spontaneity sourced from emotions within.

Jacqueline Smith (aka Auf Wiedersehen) is a twenty-two year old emerging artist from Melbourne, currently studying a Bachelor of Creative Arts Industries at Victoria University. Exploring the idea that we are all made up of the little things around us; she floats between pencil and watercolour pieces, to tactile ‘Mini Landscapes’ and wearable art. Reoccurring motifs such as mountains, forests, secret worlds, shy girls, folklore and the stories of Huldufólk all play a huge part in her work.

Korehiko's paintings blur the line between unnerving and beautiful, with their surreal and disturbing subject matter. Highly detailed half-naked human figures with eyes so wide you could almost fall into them, are reoccurring motifs within his works and explore the idea of creating portraits void of any emotion or expression.
We suggest checking out Korehiko's website to see more of his amazing work. Katherine Tromans is a creative and colourful designer living and working in Birmingham, England. With a degree in Illustration from Arts University Bournemouth, Katherine creates intricate and dreamy fashion illustrations as well as beautiful surreal landscapes. We especially like her 2011 series 'Paradise' which explores the theme of paradise by interpreting different people's descriptions of their own individual paradise and then transforming them into otherworldly landscapes.

We suggest you head over to Elsa's Flickr or website and spend some time appreciating all of her amazing work. If that's not enough you can also find Elsa on etsy here and check out her work in an upcoming group show 'About Paper' at Couturier Gallery in December. Luciana Novo is a Argentinian-born painter and sculptor who creates work with a commentary on our modern excesses and the accumulative character of the culture of the masses. All of her works are full of colour and overflowing shapes which could be seen as a contemporary representation of nature and the human figure. Luciana caught our eye with her extremely intricate and colourful mounted polar bear head 'Cabeza De Oso Polar' which is made from plasticine, clay and paint.

Inspired by the art of Disney movies and sketch drawings of her fashion designer-mother, she began drawing at an early age. Since then, her style has evolved, and she is now focusing her illustration work on her love of fashion. We just adore the candy coloured characters that Michelle comes up with as well as her obvious obsession with Sailor Moon.
Check out MIchelle's blog for more work as well as some seriously cute snapshots of Momo the pug. Katey-Jean Harvey is a freelance illustrator based in London, UK.
