Jade Purple Brown is a New York-based visual artist using graphic design, illustration & art direction to create playful and vibrant content for fashion, beauty, and art based brands.
Originally wanting to pursue a career in styling, Jade studied Fashion Marketing and Management at The Illinois Institute of Art, Chicago. During her time there, she started playing around with design programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and soon realised that her true passion was Graphic Design.Featuring bold colour palettes, quirky motifs and strong female figures, Jade’s illustrations have a distinctly 1970s retro appeal about them; a scroll through her vibrant portfolio is like diving headfirst into a design magazine from the 1970s. Jade has created content for the likes of Macy’s, Facebook, Refinery 29, ALDO Group, Brit + Co, Apartment Therapy, Zappos, Lenny Letter and Vans. When she isn't working on her freelance projects she works full time as a Digital Designer & Art Director, at the luxury beauty brand, Moroccanoil.
