Julianna Swaney's (aka Oh My Cavalier) work has always intrigued us - Her whimsical, delicate and almost narrative drawings are just as beautiful as the illustrations found in old story books. Julianna notes that her up-bringing and environment had a significant impact on her work, "I grew up in the wilds of Michigan, playing out in the woods behind my house every day and cultivating a love of animals and bird watching. I was lucky enough to have an early education that also cultivated my imagination, books were always very important in our house, and I always had a love of fairytales and magic that I could find in the real world though nature and history.
