Meet Stormie Mills, a visual artist and one of the first graff artists from Australia to make it big.

Since launching his career in 1984, Stormie Mills has formed a unique and distinguished niche for his work that has seen him showcased both nationally and internationally. His work has crossed many boundaries with representation in exhibitions in London, Los Angeles, Berlin, Birmingham, Melbourne and Perth. His work is an expression of emotions that are captured in the layers of his paintings created through his intense observations of the texture of life; to engage and challenge the viewer to explore beyond the surface to find real beauty amidst the decay.  On the subject of failing art school Stormie comments: "I still have doubt about myself and what I do, and how I do it etc; it's perhaps what drives me more than anything. I just keep moving forward learning from what I do and my mistakes. That to me is one of the strengths of being a graffiti writer: it's a movement of artwork created in adverse conditions. It makes me think of what I'm doing rather than just doing. For me, it's one of the main reasons I like to keep a restricted palate, like I started with."

We think his personality and work is pretty amazing. You can check out his website here.
